about gallery at eponymy

mr. and mrs. amani olu is pleased to announce that for the second time, it will curate the Fall/Winter exhibition at The Gallery at Eponymy.

Submission Deadline: Saturday, August 20, 2011, 11:59 PM, PST

Owned by founding Humble Arts Foundation board member and arts patron, Andrea Miller, Eponymy opened in fall of 2008 on Bergen Street in the Park Slope/Prospect Heights area of Brooklyn with the mission of creating a novel and personal shopping experience. The result is a one-of-a-kind, cleverly curated boutique – part clothing store, part gallery, part antique and curiosity shop – that quickly demanded the attention of fashion-forward New Yorkers as well as international press, including The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, New York Magazine, Daily Candy, and Time Out New York.

Eponymy is not a typical retail business; before I accepted the curatorial position, Jon Feinstein, Humble’s co-founder and curatorial director, organized the first two exhibitions. Since then, I have summoned the works of Timothy Briner, Sam Falls, Gigi Gatewood, Stephanie Jane Halmos, Kate Steciw, and Ann Woo to grace the walls at Eponymy.

The exhibition opens on Thursday, September 8, 2011 during New York’s Fashion Week and will feature an evening of live music and cocktails.
